Big Day!

So Matt and I started out the day waking up early to head to the bank. We had to set up a wire transfer for a down payment, we FINALLY signed for our first home! It has been a crazy long process and I am so grateful for Matt, he did a ton of leg work on this one. Daily phone calls with the banks and lenders and realtor then off to work for a 10-13 hour day, then back to sleep to do it all again the next day. We found a great one story home, 3 bed 2 bath, a huge back yard, and shutters on all the windows (haha I liked that part because it makes the house look cute). I'm proud to say we were able to put 20% down, and as of tomorrow at 4:30 we own a house!

I'm excited to move in and have our own space, it's going to be great and Lewis is going to love it, especially the yard. We worked really really hard to get here, it's so weird that's it's finally all coming together!
After an hour of signing a million papers we got Chick-fil-A for lunch. Before we left I made a little restroom pit stop, then not even two minutes later I get a text, "Don't forget to come with a full bladder!" [Back story: I am super impatient and didn't want to wait another week and a half to know the gender so My lovely friend Ashley who is in ultrasound school said I could be a practice patient - yay!] So we are on our way to get an ultrasound and I'm downing a bottle of water and trying to finish my freshly refiled cup of lemonade from lunch. by the time we got there I thought I was going to puke, I drank SO much. (Turns out I drank too much! By the time Ashley's teacher came in she said my bladder was way too full and sent me to the restroom!)
Originally my friend Vanessa was going to come to the ultrasound and be the only one to know the gender and then Matt and I would find out in some fun way, but it ended up being just Matt and I there (and Ashley obviously) and I didn't want to wait so I watched. ...and watched ...and all I saw was weird blur haha. eventually I saw the spine and fingers and toes. After a little back in forth thinking it might be a boy, or maybe that was a girl, or maybe that was a boy part, Ashley's teacher came in and confirmed....

It was a pretty neat experience. I've had two other ultrasounds, but this time it actually looked like a baby in there! We haven't fully decided on his name yet but I'm sure we will soon (we better haha). Other than that news, my hair seems to be agreeing with pregnancy. It's thick and like never oily - two things I am not familiar with. I haven't felt a big kick yet, more just the occasional tickle.. like if a little fish was in there haha. I still love my sparkle drinks. My mom found me some coupons for 25 cent fountain drinks at am/pm, and I will be there getting my sprite on!

The good part

I hear that this is the good part. Second trimester energy, showing stomach, no more nausea! Oh and i've officially "weened" myself back on to chicken. I had my first regularly homemade grilled chicken cooked meal and  it was good. I needed lots of rice and the sauce covering it, as well as some red hot haha, but it was good and I ate the whole thing!
Everything is much better now, I feel good. Although I seem to be starving about every two hours! So far my cravings have stayed the same, nothing too strong or insane, but I do love those mashed potatoes and gravy (adding turkey has been perfect). Mongolian food also always sounds good, mmm YC's :)
I've started to show quite a bit more. I've decided I'm cardigan pregnant haha. I feel more fat than pregnant but when I wear a little sweater it hides my love handles and just shows that little tummy poking out!
Happy moment for the week- At church on Sunday someone asked me if I was pregnant. That was nice, I figured I must finally look more pregnant than fat if someone is brave enough to ask! (or maybe it was just the cardigan)
I am 15 weeks and baby is currently 4inches and can be compared to a Haas Avocado. So far no new stretch marks however I did get a couple light purple dashes on my inner thighs. They are very small, I'm kind of hoping they stay that way ;) But either way I should probably get some cocoa butter, I haven't done that yet! oops.
The big question we all want to know - is baby a boy or a girl? Only a few more weeks and we will know! Hopefully by my next post we will find out. I wanted to do one of those "gender reveal something cute on pinterest" things, and I really thought I could, but man there is no way I'll be able to wait any longer. Plus my mom is dying to know... to know if she should buy the girl clearance at Target or the boy clearance haha!
